Course Description

This course is intended for students that have a basic understanding of pedagogy and the foundations of teaching who currently possess a California Teaching Credential. SPED 948 combines coursework and learning from SPED 403 Collaboration and SPED 803 Transition Planning courses, to provide candidates, an accelerated pathway toward a Mild to Moderate Credential. Specifically SPED 948 is designed to facilitate candidate attitudes, skills, and dispositions that foster healthy and productive collaborative relationships essential for working with stakeholders to provide services for individuals with disabilities. Additionally the course underscores how strong collaboration among individuals, family, and community agencies fosters key components of the transition process including assessments, public agencies, transition domains, and Individual transition plans (ITP).
