The ACCELERATED PATHWAY is designed for the teacher with a Clear teaching credential or a Preliminary teaching credential (must have at least two years of exemplary teaching experience if applying with only a preliminary credential). The Accelerated Pathway consists of 9 to 11 courses in a hybrid of face to face and online instruction. Our Program is built around a framework of High Leverage Practices (HLP) in Special Education and for Inclusive Classrooms.

 

The application requirements are:

Required upon submission

  • Copy of of a valid clear or preliminary California teaching credential or two years of full-time teaching experience while working under a preliminary credential. Teaching experience must be verified via a VOE letter signed and dated by the school district applicant taught for.
  • Unofficial college transcripts (official transcripts may be requested by the program after acceptance)
  • Letter of Intent. Use this template here.
  • Letter of Recommendation-Must be signed and dated from current or most recent supervisor
  • A full time teaching position[1] in either
    • inclusive classroom in which you are the teacher of record for students with Extensive Support Needs, Mild to Moderate Support Needs or in ECSE
    • an SDC classroom for students with Extensive Support Needs, Mild to Moderate Support Needs or in ECSE
    • an RSP position serving students with Extensive Support Needs, Mild to Moderate Support Needs or in ECSE
  • Or be in pursuit of an intern credential in the specialization of the program candidate is applying to.
