The Educator Preparation Programs' Classified School Employee to Teacher Credentialing Grant Program offers you $4,000 per year until funds run out, to complete a preliminary teaching credential. Funds may be used to complete a Bachelor’s degree and/or preliminary teaching credential in one of the following areas: Special Education, PK-3, Multiple Subjects, or Single subject (Math or Science) at one of our partner institutions of higher education (IHE) listed on the program's main website page.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Verification of current or former employment as a classified school employee of a public school, school district, or county office of education (COE) in Santa Clara County or Alameda County
  • Proof of passing a criminal background check
  • Have completed at least 48 college level units or AA degree at program entry
  • Verification of enrollment in a teacher preparatory program or a bachelor's degree program with the intention of pursuing a preliminary teaching credential

Your Commitment

  • Obtain a bachelor's degree (if applicable).
  • Obtain a preliminary teaching credential in one of the following pathways: Bilingual Authorization, PK-3, Multiple Subject, Single Subject (Math or Science), Special Education.
  • Complete one school year of classroom instruction for each year of financial assistance received.

  • Applicants are notified of application status and next steps via email.
