Geinah Nierra is an educator committed to creating a learning community where every student regardless of exceptionality is provided with equitable opportunities to realize their potential. She earned an M.A. in Educational Psychology from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines (1999) and her B.A. in Psychology from De La Salle University- Dasmariñas, Philippines (1995). With over 12 years as a special education teacher, she has extensive experience teaching students with Autism and Specific Learning Disability. She worked as an Instructional Coach and mentored special education teachers participating in the district’s induction program through the New Teacher Project. In addition, she assisted administrators as they engaged in inquiry cycles that specifically targeted effectively supporting students with disabilities and English learners. Currently a Special Education Program Specialist, she collaborates with colleagues and staff in planning, organizing, and coordinating the district’s special education program.
