Course Description
Candidates will be provided with the “Will and Skill” to learn evidence-based methodologies to becoming an effective instructional equity leader in pre-k to 12 schools. Grounded in best practices in adult learning theory and effective instructional leadership, the candidates will engage in experiential learning to gain hands-on practice of supporting leadership and instructional practices with teachers. Coupled with Equity principles, the course will provide course content and administrator’s standards (CAPEs and CACES) to ensure Equity is the foundation of becoming an instructional leader in schools.Notes
Course Selection Instructions
- Identify Your Enrollment Cohort (the term you started your program):
- Fall
- Spring
- Summer
- Choose Courses Based on Your Cohort:
- Fall: Enroll in courses with section numbers ending in 100 (e.g., EDA 631-100).
- Spring: Enroll in courses with section numbers ending in 200 (e.g., EDA 631-200).
- Summer: Enroll in courses with section numbers ending in 300 (e.g., EDA 631-300).
- Avoid Mixing Terms: Enroll only in sections that match your enrollment cohort, even if multiple options are available. Example: A student who starts their program in the Fall should select a course such as "EDA 634 - 100," where "100" indicates it’s offered for the Fall cohort. If multiple sections are available, they may also consider "EDA 634 - 101" or "EDA 634 - 102," which are sequential offerings of the same course.
